Tasting Room
Walking into our state-of-the-art, tasting room is like a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure experience. Go up the winding drive and through the glass entryway. You’ll be transported to another world.
General Information
General Information
- Hours: Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, 11:00 am – 5:00 pm. Friday, 11:00 am – 9:00 pm. We are closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
- Wine, grab-and-go food, and merchandise are available to purchase. We also offer shipping and curbside pick-up.
- We will only accommodate groups of up to 4 inside our Tasting Room, and groups of up to 6 on our porches during the spring and summer season.
Tasting Room
- We currently only offer wine tastings by appointment on Fridays at 12:00pm, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, 3:00 pm, 4:00 pm, 5:00 pm, and 6:00 pm, Thursdays and Mondays at 11:00 am, 12:00 pm, 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, 3:00 pm, and 4:00 pm and Saturdays and Sundays at 11:00 am, 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, 3:00 pm, and 4:00 pm. We will only allow 8 guests per tasting. You can schedule a wine tasting here.
- Please check in with our greeter upon arrival for details and availability in our outdoor seating areas. Seating is limited and offered on a first come, first served basis.
- Seating in our tasting room is limited. Groups of no more than 4 per table will be accepted. This includes children.
Outdoor Areas
- Tables and chairs are spaced outside for social distancing. Please do not move the furniture. Seating on the porches and patios is for groups of no more than 6 per table.
BIG Wine Experience
- Our BIG Wine Experience will be available by appointment only. This special seated tasting includes six different wines that are a combination of our special release and library wines, and barrel tastings. It also includes a tour of our property and special cheese pairing to complement the wine that has been hand-selected for you. This makes the perfect gift! The cost is $77/person and includes a gratuity for your wine server. We are accepting groups of up to 6, with a 4 person minimum booking requirement. Sanitation
- We are committed to sanitizing all customer contact areas throughout the day to provide a safe and clean environment. Our staff will be wearing facemasks to serve you. Guests must wear a facemask when entering the Tasting Room.
- A sanitizing station is located inside of the front door, and handwashing is available in our restrooms.
- Outdoor seating areas will be sanitized between guests.
- The entire tasting room will be sanitized nightly using ozone technology.
- We encourage payment via credit card. We will clean all POS equipment after each customer.
- If you have experienced symptoms related to COVID-19 or have had exposure to COVID-19 in the past 14 days, please refrain from visiting.
Outdoor Areas
- Tables and chairs are spaced outside for social distancing. Please do not move the furniture. Seating on the porches and patios is for groups of no more than 6 per table.
- Lawn seating is available for groups of 6 or more. Please bring blankets and chairs as needed for seating in the grass.
Private event rentals details
- We offer event space rental for groups during our peak season from April – October. Please call 301-302-8032 or email Meagan Grove, Events Manager, at mgrove@bigcorkvineyards.com for more information.
Group information details
- We request that you do not move our furniture or tables.
- Only event rentals may bring in balloons or decorations, as noted in their contract.
- Groups of 7 or more are asked to sit in our grassy area. Pop-up tents, blankets, and chairs are all permitted in this space.
- Each socially distanced square can only accommodate 6 guests on our lawn. If your group is larger than 6, you must split up between squares in the lawn accordingly.
- Please contact us in advance if you plan to bring more than 12 guests so we are able to provide the best guest experience possible.
- Groups of 19 or more will not be accepted without a reservation. Please contact mgrove@bigcorkvineyards.com for more information.
Children
- We’re BIG on kids and family, however, we do require that all children remain within an arm’s reach of their guardians while visiting our property.
- Children’s parties are not permitted at Big Cork Vineyards.
Decorations
- Decorations are not permitted unless renting space for an event.
- This includes balloons, tents, floral arrangements, glitter, streamers, banners, etc.
BIG no-nos
We hate saying no, but these are our BIG rules so that we can ensure all of our guests enjoy their time at our vineyard.
- No grilling is permitted.
- No outside music, including radios and musical instruments.
- Hired transportation must call in advance.
Outside Alcohol Policy
When visiting Big Cork Vineyards, please note the only alcohol that is permitted on our property is Big Cork Vineyards wine. This is Maryland law. Please do not bring any other alcohol including but not limited to previously purchased Big Cork Vineyards wine, wine from another vineyard, beer, hard alcohol, champagne or wine coolers. Failure to abide by these laws subjects us to hefty fines and a loss of our license. Violators will be asked to leave the property immediately.
